In December 2018, those who are closely following the Pain festival asked only one question: who is Oleg Musor?
On the very first poster of the festival, these two words were written in huge print, while in the public, which was located on VKontakte, there were about 500 people at that time, and a concert was announced there literally in an apartment on Simferopolsky Boulevard with a man named Nikolai Lustra. The music didn’t make it clear - with a frustrated guitar in a teenage (but strong) voice, some girl (or teenage boy?) Informed us that "when I get fucked, I will be so old" and that "all men are goats, but not all goats are men. "
Six months have passed since then, during which it turned out that Oleg is actually a 19-year-old girl from Sasha Kuzminok, who now records Russian rock with the band Garbage and sometimes synth-pop as MSR.
"Who lives here in Kuzminki?" The elections to the Moscow City Duma are on the lookout, and even McDonald's in the southeast of Moscow for some reason is becoming a battlefield for functionaries from United Russia and the opposition. "I AM!" - Sasha proudly responds, she is Oleg Garbage, she is “Garbage”, she is MSR, and fills out a questionnaire. “Alexandra Olegovna Gorbacheva, birthday: June 27, 2000,” the birthday girl neatly displays the letters (we happened to meet on her 19th birthday) in an almost raver anorak and socks with the inscription “Style”. Now, it seems, it’s clear where Sasha got her stage name, but just in case, I clarify and hear the story in response:
“Once my mother and I were sitting in the kitchen, and my father Oleg just went home. He needed to quickly take out the trash. Mom ran to him with a bag so that he couldn’t close the door and screamed:“ Oleg, garbage! "- without leaving the slightest pause between the words. Then it seemed to me that it looked like a pseudonym, and I laughed and said to my mother: Imagine if it was someone else's stage name". "
A few months later, the 16-year-old girl was already recording the first songs as Oleg Musor. The first songs appeared almost from the air. “I walked through the kitchen, and some kind of melody was born in my head, at first, though, the piano:“ Hey girl, you have a cool manicure ... “Wow, it’s fun. I ran to the computer, wrote the text in one go. was the second or third song in my life that I wrote - and still one of the most successful, "Sasha tells how the song" Zhulebino "appeared.
Sasha laid out her songs in the "Post-Bard" - a public on VKontakte for the exchange of acoustic songs, which is conducted by Svyatoslav Svidrigailov, aka "Satan bakes pancakes." As a result, the Cold Sounds label grew out of this community, and the most famous members of the Post-Bard almost immediately subscribed to it: Masha Nonconformist, Mayak (which, incidentally, also lives in Moscow, unlike most of the label's artists. Singing with a guitar is rather a St. Petersburg story, see Buckwheat) and Oleg Musor.
At this time, Sasha was already performing with a small group - a pianist, drummer and guitarist. She played her first concert with friends in the "Mess" bar at the invitation of a friend. However, the debut album, released at the end of 2017, was recorded with a guitar: Sasha was going through a difficult period in relations with people who use drugs (for example, the song "Anti-drug radical", for example), it was necessary to release songs as soon as possible to put an end to this story.
Probably, this emotionality of her first songs came from here - at other times her music resembled acoustic emo pioneer Conor Oberst, aka Bright Eyes, not Zemfira or Buckwheat, or who else is usually remembered in such cases. “It was necessary to make an album that would distinguish between this life and the past,” Sasha explains.
Funny, however, was also enough: in "Zhulebino" Sasha sings about how he "watches" The Battle of Psychics "at night, dreaming of becoming a legend, not driven by trifles." But already in the "Song of Love" (the same one about goats - and, for the sake of laughter, about beer "Velkopopovitsky goat"), without a shadow of irony it betrays: "I love you very much, so no one has ever loved anyone, just as much I love Russia, and even then not always. " “It’s clear that it’s ironic, but based on real events,” says Sasha.
If you think about it, she’s not joking about beer either: on my birthday I couldn’t give away a few bottles of Kozla. Having trembled under a shower at the monument to Yesenin (one of the attractions of Kuzminok), we ordered a taxi and moved towards Zhulebin. After drinking a couple of bottles in the car, we came to our senses and continued our conversation - it turned out that "Goat" is really a "drink of the gods."
Some of the songs - the most difficult for her - Sasha rewrote for the second album, "Your Favorite Songs," but with the group. Then the word "Oleg" fell off from the pseudonym: "It is difficult to imagine a combination of fun posters and Oleg Musor's covers and heavy, depressing songs."
"Your Favorite Songs" is really Russian rock in the form in which Zemfira does it, which Sasha especially does not hide. “At the age of 12 I watched the film concert“ The Green Theater in Zemfira ”for the first time - and since then I have been listening to it constantly. Not so long ago I listened to it again - and, you won’t believe it, opened it from one more side.”
At the same time, when Sasha breaks down in the opening song "Asexual", it becomes clear that things are not limited to studying Zemfira. "I'm not afraid to say that Aljay is a very cool and talented dude. Everyone says that Tim Belorussky looks like a schoolboy and a good guy - what difference does it make a guy sing cool songs, well done. Actually, no one is obliged to do what I like."
About a week ago, she released a single under the pseudonym MSR (My Single Rave, not what you thought). The sound is more reminiscent of T-Fest and LSP, however, Sasha did not write music herself: a couple of years ago she won a cover contest (with the song "Ice is melting!") And was given the opportunity to professionally produce one of the songs. It sounds interesting - it’s as if a bit of the level of a big pop star were written in a yard singer. There will be three songs in total: "Cigarette", "Help" and "Weekend" (the latter has not yet been released).
“I didn’t make any double sense in“ Cigarette ”at all. Just at that time I found out about the T-Fest song with Basta“ Scandal ”- I listened to it while I was working (Sasha works as a “cupcake carrier” - distributes muffins from friends' pastry shop. - Ed.). There is such a piano - it's cool, I decided that it would be cool to do something like that. I just still smoke constantly - I came home and wrote just such a song about cigarettes. "Yard? Yard.
However, this period soon seems to end. "The songs that are being written now have nothing to do with this patsian theme, the yard," says Sasha, and, thinking, adds: "But still, SEAD is SEAD - this is my life."
